I really enjoyed the challenge course on Friday afternoon! The activities were fun and the problem solving tasks made all of the group work as a team whilst also using our minds collaboratively. I was petrified by the high rope swing, but the group encouraged me to have a go and I was pleased I managed it in the end!
On Saturday, we went to the Omak Stampede (with MASSIVE thanks to Jennifer and Pedro who gave up their Saturday to take us there; even though it was a lonnnngggg way to go!) Firstly, I can only describe the heat as being what I imagine the Sahara desert to be like! My English skin is made for rain, not soaring temperatures like in Omak! Again, thanks to Jennifer who pre-warned me, to Pedro for the factor 50, and to Omak for having trees for shade and Strawberry Lemonade!
The Pow-Wow was a wonderful sight to see. We watched the Native American’s dance and sing; with the bright colours of dress and the sound of drums and bells, which was really nice. Well worth putting up with the heat for! It was nice to see their culture so well respected and was definitely a highlight for me.
A few pictures of the Pow-Wow:
