Language Technology Workshop...

I found the Language Technology workshop extremely interesting as I explored technologies which I have never encountered in the UK. I researched pbworks, voicethread, xtranormal, inspiration and teachers.tv and assessed these programmes against the use of second language acquisition principles. It was interesting for me to discover how these technologies can be used as an aid to incorporate differing cultures and diversities into the classroom, and also provide children with different means of communication and ownership of their own work.

Through this exercise, I was able to reflect critically on my own experiences of using educational technology in the classroom and recognise how limited my methods were. I intend to discover more about the mentioned programmes and research techniques and applications which will assist me in constructing more creative ways of learning using technology.

I intend to keep abreast of current educational technology issues by reviewing the Language Learning & Technology journal we were introduced to during the workshop.

  1. Nicola,
What did you discover about your own perspective on language technologies through the survey and our discussions?
    Best wishes,
